Overview
A pair of early, hand-assembled earrings by the legendary Laurel Burch, featuring her signature stylized animal motifs in cast metal.
Story
In the late 1960s, a young, self-taught artist began scouring San Francisco junkyards for scraps of metal to hammer into jewelry on her kitchen table.
Maker / Origin
Laurel Burch was a true 'outsider artist' who lived a life of extraordinary resilience, suffering from osteogenesis imperfecta (brittle bone disease) which caused her over 100 fractures.
Condition & Value
The earrings appear to be in excellent vintage condition with a consistent aged patina. Early Laurel Burch metal pieces (pre-enamel) have a dedicated collector base.
