Overview
A hand-polished lapidary sphere crafted from Amazonite, a vibrant variety of microcline feldspar prized for its seafoam-green hue.
Story
Ancient Egyptians revered this stone as the 'Stone of Hope,' famously using it to carve the tablets for the Book of the Dead and adorning the mask of Tutankhamun with its cool green tones.
Maker / Origin
While the raw material is a product of geological time, the 'maker' is a lapidary artist who used diamond-grit saws and specialized spherical grinding cups to shape the stone.
Condition & Value
The sphere appears to have a high-quality polish with no major surface chips or 'bruising' from being dropped. There are natural internal fractures and tiny surface pits (vugs) visible, which are characteristic of the feldspar family and do not negatively impact the value. The polish remains bright and reflective.
