Story
The Royal Factory of Capodimonte was founded in 1743 by King Charles VII of Naples, who was so obsessed with porcelain that he married a princess whose dowry included 17 Meissen services.
Maker / Origin
Carlo Savastano was a noted 20th-century Italian sculptor and ceramicist who specialized in the Capodimonte style.
Condition & Value
The figurine appears to be in remarkable condition; the most vulnerable points—the tiny candle flames and the points of the star—look entirely intact. While Capodimonte is a famous name, the market for small holiday figurines is stable but modest.
