Overview
This is a stunning example of scripophily—the study and collection of historical stock and bond certificates.
Story
In April 1882, Berlin was the heart of a rapidly industrializing German Empire, and the Prussian state needed massive capital to fund its expansion.
Maker / Origin
Issued by the 'Königliche Hauptverwaltung der Staatsschulden' (Royal General Administration of State Debts), these documents were produced with the same rigor as currency.
Condition & Value
The document shows significant age-related wear, including foxing (brown spots), edge tears, and heavy creasing. While historically fascinating, many Prussian bonds were preserved, making them relatively common in the collector market.
