Overview

A classic example of American mid-century silverplate, this round platter features the ornate 'Springtime' pattern with its signature floral and scrollwork embossing.

Story

Post-World War II America saw a massive boom in 'at-home' entertaining, where the dining room table became a stage for social status and hospitality.

Maker / Origin

The 'Wm. Rogers' mark carries a legacy dating back to the 1840s when three brothers pioneered the silverplating industry in Hartford, Connecticut.

Condition & Value

The photos show visible tarnish and surface oxidation, along with some 'bleeding' where the silver plating has worn thin on the raised edges, revealing the darker base… Silverplate values are currently modest as modern lifestyles favor dishwasher-safe items.
