Overview
This is a monumental piece of American toy history, a heavy-gauge pressed steel fire truck designed to be virtually indestructible.
Story
Fred Lundahl started making these toys in 1921 because he wanted something strong enough for his son, Arthur (nicknamed 'Buddy L'), to play with without it shattering.
Maker / Origin
Fred Lundahl's Moline Pressed Steel Company originally manufactured parts for International Harvester and McCormick-Deering.
Condition & Value
The truck shows honest play wear including paint loss, surface rust, and some minor bending to the fenders. The ladder and crank mechanism appear functional and the original pull-string loop is still present on the front bumper.
