Overview
This is a classic Seiko Lord Matic, a 'mid-high' tier luxury watch from the golden era of Japanese mechanical watchmaking.
Story
In May 1974, when this watch left the Suwa factory in Japan, Seiko was in the middle of a global revolution, proving that 'mass-produced' didn't mean 'low quality.'
Maker / Origin
Seiko was founded by Kintarō Hattori in 1881, but its greatness was fueled by an intense internal rivalry between its two main factories: Daini and Suwa.
Condition & Value
The acrylic crystal shows significant surface scratching, though these can often be polished out. The stainless steel case has honest 'desk diving' marks consistent with age. The dial appears remarkably clean, which is vital for vintage Seiko collectors. Condition reduces value by roughly 20% compared to a mint-condition example.
