Overview
This is a striking specimen of K2 Granite, a rare geological occurrence where bright blue Azurite 'droplets' are naturally embedded within a white and grey granite matrix.
Story
High in the Karakoram Range, at the base of the world's second-highest peak, K2, miners discovered this geological anomaly that seems to defy typical mineral formation.
Maker / Origin
Nature is the primary artist here, though the stone was shaped and polished in a lapidary workshop, likely in Pakistan or India.
Condition & Value
The stone appears well-polished with a smooth surface and no visible cracks or 'vugs' (natural pits). The distribution of azurite is attractive and centered. Excellent condition for a display or palm stone. Value for K2 granite is driven by the size of the specimen and the intensity/density of the blue azurite spots.
